Kenny Wayne Shepherd, a multi-platinum, Grammy-nominated artist, is set to release Part II of his Dirt On My Diamonds vision. Following the acclaimed Dirt On My Diamonds Vol 1, released in November, Shepherd has crafted a follow-up album that shares the spirit but explores different musical landscapes. Recorded during the same sessions at FAME Studios in Muscle Shoals, Alabama, this new release continues his exploration of blues and rock while embracing fresh sounds and grooves. Shepherd explains that while both albums are connected, each has its own distinct identity, offering listeners a cohesive musical journey.

From his debut with Ledbetter Heights, Shepherd’s career has been a testament to his dedication to blues and rock. Raised in Louisiana, he was influenced by legends like Muddy Waters and Stevie Ray Vaughan. His early exposure led to a recording deal and the creation of hits like “Blue On Black.” Shepherd’s collaborations with blues greats and his solo projects, including work with supergroup The Rides, highlight his commitment to honoring blues traditions while pushing musical boundaries. His partnership with producer Marshall Altman on this project aimed to capture modern and vibrant vibes.

The new album features tracks like “I Got A Woman” and “The Middle,” showcasing Shepherd’s signature guitar riffs enhanced by a powerful horn section. Themes range from personal reflections to societal observations, with songs like “My Guitar Is Crying” and “Pressure” exploring emotional and cultural landscapes. The album also includes a cover of ZZ Top’s “She Loves My Automobile,” reflecting Shepherd’s love for cars. As he releases this eagerly awaited second volume, Shepherd is excited to share his latest work, continuing to challenge himself creatively and maintain his status as a leader in contemporary rock and blues.
